Gallet makes a comeback with Breitling: 200 years after its founding.

Founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1826, the Watch brand Gallet stood for the finest Swiss watchmaking for many decades and accompanied explorers, adventurers, aviation pioneers, and sailors on their journeys. However, various crises and the lack of its own manufacturing facilities led Gallet to increasingly become a niche brand for collectors. With Breitling’s support, the storied brand is making a much-anticipated comeback nearly 200 years after its founding, presenting innovative timepieces that combine historical roots with modern watchmaking.

Gallet as Breitling’s sister brand

Gallet’s remarkable history and unmistakable brand identity prompted Breitling to help Gallet make a comeback. The timing is ideal, as exactly 200 years after its founding, Gallet is once again taking center stage in the world of luxury Watches.

Gallet will appear as Breitling’s sister brand, using the renowned brand’s manufacturing infrastructure, customer service, and distribution network. In selected Breitling boutiques, Watch enthusiasts will have the opportunity to get a first impression of the new Watches in Gallet corners.

The brand continues to stand for adventure, exploration, and travel. The corresponding models draw on Gallet’s historical roots while being produced according to modern standards and with modern technology.

The Flying Officer for globetrotters

The Flying Officer was first presented in 1939. The Watch was developed for early aviation as a reliable companion on the first intercontinental flights. Using the rotating bezel with city names, pilots could keep track of several time zones while also accurately following their flight routes and refueling stopovers. The modern version of the Flying Officer features a bezel created for 24 contemporary travel destinations.

Gallet Classics with special editions for the 200th anniversary

To mark the comeback, Watch enthusiasts can look forward to three special models. These are traditional hand-wound chronographs in compact 38 mm cases: Tribute to Multichron Yachting Big Eye, Tribute to Multichron 45, and Tribute to Silverlight.

Multichron Pilot and Multichron Sport

Gallet’s portfolio includes the Multichron Pilot as a robust tool Watch with a 42 mm case, a date window at 6 o’clock, a telemeter scale, and a second-time-zone display. The Multichron Sport is a performance-oriented chronograph for motorsport and off-road driving. Highlights include the striking orange hand and the tachymeter scale for measuring speed.

Breitling with classics and special editions

Watch enthusiasts and those interested in the brand need not expect Breitling to stand still. The brand continues to rely on proven classics while also introducing exciting new models. The Navitimer B09 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Miles Davis was recently unveiled, designed in honor of the famous jazz musician. Limited to 500 pieces, it is sure to become a sought-after collector’s item.
