Inspired by the expressive world of Pop Art, Audemars Piguet and Swatch have joined forces in an extraordinary collaboration. The Royal Pop is a watch that incorporates the unmistakable design features of the legendary Royal Oak while carrying the creative character of a Swatch. The result is eight colorful models full of energy and individuality, sure to find their own unique fans.

At first glance, the influences of the classic Audemars Piguet Royal Oakare clear. The distinctive octagonal bezel with vertical satin finish, the eight visible screws, and the characteristic Grande Tapisserie pattern on the dial give the watch its unmistakable character. The design is complemented by hands and hour indices with Super LumiNova Grade A coating, which remain excellently readable even in the dark. With a diameter of 40 millimeters and a height of 8.4 millimeters, the Royal Pop features classic proportions that appear timeless and balanced.

A special sophistication of the Royal Pop lies in its interpretation of traditional pocket watches. The collection is available in two classic variants: as Lépine with the crown at twelve o’clock and a pure hours and minutes display, and as Savonnette with the crown at three o’clock and an additional small seconds at six o’clock. This combines historical watchmaking art with a modern and extraordinary design.

The Royal Pop is made from Bioceramic, an innovative composite material from Swatch. The material, developed and patented by Swatch, combines high-quality ceramic with bio-based components derived from castor oil. This results in a particularly durable material with a pleasantly smooth surface and an elegant satin matte finish.

With a total of eight expressive color variants, the Royal Pop also offers an exceptionally versatile selection that appeals to a wide range of tastes.

But how do you actually wear such an extraordinary watch? The answer lies in a sophisticated pin and clip system. The colorful watch head can be easily attached to clothing or bags, instantly becoming a stylish eye-catcher. The legendary Pop Swatch already attracted attention and cult status with this special concept. With the Royal Pop, Audemars Piguet and Swatch revisit this idea and deliberately break with the classic expectations of traditional watchmaking.

Launch and Price of the Royal Pop

Given this extraordinary collaboration, Audemars Piguet and Swatch can expect enormous demand for the Royal Pop. The launch will take place on May 16, 2026 and initially exclusively in physical stores. The collection will be available at a total of eleven locations, including Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Berlin. Unfortunately, there will be no online sales for the time being.

The Royal Pop also makes an exciting statement in terms of price. The Lépine variant with hours and minutes display is available for 385 euros, while the Savonnette with small seconds is priced at 400 euros.
