Union Glashütte

In 1893, Dürrstein founded his own watch manufactory in the traditional watchmaking town of Glashütte. To prove his watchmaking expertise, Johannes Dürrstein commissioned master watchmaker Julius Bergter around 1900 to build a particularly complex watch that was to surpass the then most successful caliber of the Grande Complication. With 18 complications, the watch was long considered the most complicated watch in the world. Since the 1990s, Union has belonged to Glashütte Original, which focuses on the strengths of the traditional brand. The best-known models are: Bergter, Belisar, Noramis, Seris, Diplomat, and Klassik.
