TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 45 mm x Formula 1

TAG Heuer embodies the essence of Formula 1® racing

SINCE ITS BEGINNINGS, TAG Heuer has been closely connected to motorsport and has maintained a strong relationship with Formula 1 for decades. With the new TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E5 45 millimeter x Formula 1, the brand presents a model that impresses both visually and technically, just in time for the start of the season. At the same time, enthusiasts will find it worthwhile to look back, as numerous earlier Watches from TAG Heuer have long since achieved the status of modern classics.

TAG Heuer and the Fascination with Formula 1

The connection to the pinnacle of motorsport dates back to 1969. Initially, TAG Heuer was present on racing cars before the commitment was expanded in 1972 through the role as a team sponsor. A special highlight of the partnership was between 1992 and 2003, when the company served as the official timekeeper of Formula 1, accompanying some of the most successful years of the racing series. During this time, McLaren and Ferrari with their world championship titles shaped an era that still resonates today.

This close connection to motorsport remains firmly embedded in the brand’s DNA to this day. Collaborations with legendary drivers like Juan Manuel Fangio and Ayrton Senna contributed just as much as later partnerships with Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso. They all stand for precision, speed, and an unwavering will to succeed—values that TAG Heuer embodies as well.

Looking ahead to 2026, TAG Heuer makes a strong statement. The Connected Calibre E5 45 millimeter x Formula 1 accompanies the new season as a modern and powerful timepiece. The case made of brushed and sandblasted Grade 2 titanium with black coating gives the Watch a distinctive yet elegant appearance.

Special features include the slightly curved touchscreen bezel, a crown made of black rubber, and integrated functions such as a heart rate sensor. The red Formula 1 logo on the case back adds a sporty accent. The Watch combines modern technology with dynamic design, making it an ideal companion for a season once again defined by speed, innovation, and emotion.

TAG Heuer and Motorsport: Monaco, Formula 1 & Carrera

The close connection of TAG Heuer to motorsport is impressively reflected in three iconic model lines that still stand for speed, precision, and adventure today. Each tells its own story and is at the same time an expression of the brand’s passion for racing.

TAG Heuer Carerra

The TAG Heuer Carrera owes its name to the legendary Carrera Panamericana, one of the most dangerous road races in history, which ran across Mexico and was discontinued in 1954 after numerous accidents. The myth of this race, however, lives on to this day and finds its stylish continuation in the Carrera. It stands for clarity, functionality, and the irresistible fascination of motorsport.

One of the brand’s best-known models is undoubtedly the TAG Heuer Formula 1. Inspired by the Heuer Easy Rider from the seventies, a Watch was created with resin cases and striking colors, deliberately aimed at a younger audience. In its further development, the brand repeatedly took new paths. A remarkable example is the year 1989, when a version with a classic chronograph layout appeared, notable for an unusual construction. It combined a quartz movement with an additional mechanical layer, demonstrating a boldness for technical experiments.

TAG Heuer Monaco

Also unmistakable is the TAG Heuer Monaco. Its distinctive square case clearly sets it apart from other models and immediately draws attention. In many versions, the crown was deliberately placed on the left side of the case, while the pushers are classically positioned at two and four o’clock. The decisive boost to cult status came from the film Le Mans, in which Steve McQueen wore it on his wrist, instantly making it world-famous.
TAG Heuer Watches combine sporty elegance, innovative technology, and expressive design. These are exactly the qualities that also shape motorsport and make the fascination of these Watches enduring to this day.
