Age determination of Omega watches

For those whose interest in wrist and pocket watches goes beyond just a quick glance at the current time, the serial number as well as the movement and Reference Number play a crucial role.

The brand Omega was founded in 1848 under the brand name Louis Brandt. The current name first appeared in 1894. Therefore, a precise dating is only possible from this year onwards.

Omega Serial and Caliber Numbers

In the following table, you will find an overview of serial numbers of wrist and pocket watches. We refer to an article by Gisbert L. Brunner, the renowned specialist author in the field of Watches, and the website sammleruhren.de.

Besides the serial number of a Watch, there is also the possibility to determine the year of manufacture with an indication of the caliber. Below you will find a list of the caliber numbers of Omega assigned from 1904 onwards.

For the Omega Constellation model range, further caliber numbers are available. The following table shows you the caliber numbers for ladies' and men's models from the year of manufacture 1952 onwards.

The luxury watch brand Omega is clearly one of the most sought-after collector Watches worldwide. Particularly interesting are the models from the 60s and early 70s. If the Watch is in very good or original condition, such a Watch can achieve a very good price at auctions.
