Omega say about themselves: „ …Our pioneering spirit has taken us to the Moon, helped us conquer the oceans' depths, and allowed us to time the world's most important sporting events. At the same time, we were setting precision records and have been continuously re-defining state-of-the-art mechanical watchmaking since 1848.” In 1848, the 23-year-old Louis Brandt opened a workshop for assembling watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In 1879, his two sons expand the workshop into a manufacture. In 1885 the calibrator "Labrador" with a daily variation of less than 30 seconds was developed, in 1892 the first watch with minute repetition went on sale and in 1932 Omega acted for their first time in the Olympic Games as official timekeeper. The best-known models are: Constellation, Planet Ocean, Speedmaster, Seamaster and De Ville.
